MARA SUPERIOR , one of the founding partners of Pinch Pottery/Ferrin Gallery in Northampton, Massachusetts is represented by Ferrin Contemporary. Known for detailed works in porcelain, her current work can be seen at Project Art, where Ferrin Contemporary offices are based and in selected exhibitions at the the gallery’s North Adams location on the MASS MoCA campus. Based in Western Massachusetts, Mara lives in nearby Williamsburg, works at East Street Clay Studios in Hadley and exhibits work in galleries and museums throughout the USA and internationally. She will demonstrate her painting on porcelain relief platters during the two day open house. In 2017, she received the prestigious Massachusetts Cultural Council award of excellence. An avid traveler in the US and Europe, her artistic pilgrimages seek out the icons of art history as inspiration for her “Collections” series. Noted museum collections include, the White House Collection of American Craft, the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, the Museum of Arts and Design in NYC, the Peabody Essex Museum, Philadelphia Museum of Art and the LA County Museum of Art.
